I'm so SAD

🙁

Seasonal affective disorder is a bitch. I'm normally the happiest person alive, but 5 days of no sun and I can feel my serotonin levels drop like a hammer.
I do suspect some of it has to do with the chemistry experiment that has been my brain, but I've been affected the sun or lack thereof for all my life.

I gotta get me one of those sun lamps.
Here's to sunnier days.
:sun:

Wouldn't the serotonin increase with lack of sun? Perhaps you mean dopamine? I thought it was the dopamine that was synthesized into serotonin.

Anyway, sorry to hear it!

I have been thinking about getting a light box for the winter months. I always feel better during the long summer days.

I like the night time myself. Doesn't make me sad.

The one time of day I do not like is sundown. I like sun rise. I like midday. I like nights.

But I hate dusk and/or sundown. I hate it beyond comprehension.

Sorry man. I know what depression is like 🙁
I consider it a chemical inconvenience. I can't even imagine how much life would suck for people with real depression problems. I can recognize the pure chemical nature of my feeling, and I know that it'll be gone soon. But does it suck.

For once, I can agree with JLGatsby. Something about sundown time sucks balls, always makes me feel sluggish.

I'm pretty sure both chemicals and their respective receptors are separate.

Interesting, I love dusk and sundown. I also love the run rise and a nice sunny midday. I do, however, hate grey days. Especially in succession.

I absolutely love grey days.

A rainy day is my favorite sort of day. I love to drive around in the rain.

Sometimes when it's raining I'll just take a drive, going nowhere, just to drive around in the rain.

I hate anything between 3pm and 8pm. Love everything else.

A warm summer rain is nice, lightning storms are the best, but a week of cold rain gets pretty crappy towards the end of the week.
The grey provides a nice contrast though, you can bet your ass I'm gonna be flying on cloud nine the next nice day.
