Holy crap, when i applied for this job. I didn't know the whole hiring process is soooo involving...

He contacted every single name i ever mention on the application :Q

I only listed 3 references, 3 law enforcement officials that i know, 3 people that would speak about you, 5 most recent jobs, 5 most recent address...

HOLY CRAP! he contacted every single one of them!!

for the 5 recent addresses, he visit them and talked to all the neighbors!
3 references - when he interviewed them, they mention my ex girlfriend...he's now going to contact her too! even though i didn't even mention it in my application! :Q

3 law enforcement officials - he talked to all 3 of them!! a sheriff, a state trooper, & a capital police in DC
3 people who would speak out for you - contacted the lawyer, my cousin, and my sargeant.

for the 5 most recent jobs - he tlaked to every single one of the manager there about me! holy mofo!!

And now, he just stopped by my house to get my ex girlfriend's phone number so he can tlak to her. and he's going to talk to my neighbor at my current address 😱

sounds like that form you fill out for national security postions. did the application ask you to list any organizations you've been a member of?

He's applying to be a police dispatcher.

/me pats himself on back for detective skills

Sounds like the process for Top Secret clearance. The good news is that if you've been a good little boy for the past 7 - 10 years this background check may make you very marketable in the long run. It's expensive for companies to investigate like this so tag it to your resume.

join the club

next thing you know, they will be attaching all sorts of crap to you and asking uncomfortable questions ala meet the parents

hehe, it's like when my friend applied to boeing, he went through the exact same thing. now he can't tell me what he does at his job, no matter what 😕

Not that big a deal.. I've got a friend who does this for a living. He's constantly going out to Fort Lewis to interview officers, neighbors, friends, etc when someone is in line for a security clearance. Of course he's one of the LEAST intimidating people I know, so I doubt he'd be making you as nervous as this detective is. 🙂

i was never under the impression that they are going to contact anyone i listed that's not in the "reference" section.

Boy i was wrong.

Ya they just ask you to list it for no reason... I've hired tons and called every reference, the school they claimed to have graduated, and job ever held. Would'nt believe how many people bend the truth.

Hey Kroze, it gets even worse if you apply to be an Officer.
