I'm so glad I made the switch to Firefox!

Being sick of spyware, I decided to give Firefox a try. I was not real confident that it would be a good replacement for IE. Primarily, I was concerned that I would have a problem with a lot of pages not rendering properly, incompatibilities, etc.

I have to say that I am a convert! This browser rocks! I've had almost no compatibility issues. The huge decrease in spyware is great. And AdBlock is the greatest plugin ever. It's so nice to be able to go to sites like ESPN.com and not be bombarded with a bunch of crap.

It also seems to use fewer resources. I have a TV tuner card which I run in a small window in the corner. On IE, whenever I would scroll down a page, the display would stutter freeze until I stopped scrolling. On Firefox, it still displays smooth as silk, even if I go crazy with my scroll wheel (watching my beloved Cubbies right now :) ).

I haven't got real used to tabbed browsing, but am slowly getting there. I try to make myself remember to use it when opening new windows. Beats having a bunch of entries in the taskbar.

I know this has been discussed many times before, but for those skeptics out there (like I was), do yourself a big favor and download it (and install AdBlock!).

Don't bother... I was using 1.5 for a long time and I just did a reformat (to clean up)
and decided to try out Firefox since the hype with 1.0

Mozilla is a much better client than Firefox... firefox is ugly and lacks the depth of options in preferences (handling cookies for example)

So now I am back on Mozilla 1.7.3 and it's been great...

I haven't tried Mozilla, but Firefox is definately better than IE, and it's free. So for all the IE users I would recommend it, but for the mozillas I don't know.

IndyJaws:

Tabbrowser Extensions is what you need. A normal left click opens the link in a tab instead of a window, and it's very configurable. I wish they would have it built in to Firefox myself.
When you go the page you'll see Download Tabbrowser Ext. Just click it and your Extension box will pop up and let you install it.

Ok, now I'm not sure if it's SP2 or Firefox blocking it, but you'll have to click on that Information Bar and allow it to be installed.
