(Yeah yeah....You already knew that, right?)

I got some candy last night. Sticky, chewy candy. (Bit-O-Honey to be exact.) I pop it in my mouth this evening and chew. *CRUNCH* Uh oh..... I spit the candy out and looked at it. Sure enough, my new filling was in there....in pieces. I got three fillings in May, I think. One of the fillings in the front was part way out. I had Xerox Man just go with me to Wal-Mart to get a temporary filling because I won't be home until Sunday. I went to put in the temp. filling stuff and even more of the filling is loose. It's pretty bad. :(

Moral of the story? If you have fillings, be smart and don't eat chewy, sticky stuff.

I had about 3 or 4 fillings before this and I've had them for years and I've never had any problems. I've had nothing but problems with these since I got them. A little piece fell out a little while ago, I went back to the dentist and he said it was fine. Now, this happens. :( :disgust: I won't be able to get anything done till I get back home either. UGH!

When you get back in town, go see your dentist and demand free replacements. If they were only done in May, it isn't right that they should come out so soon.

I had a bridge break after a year, and my dentist replaced it for free. The replacement broke two years later. I went back, and I told him I would pay for the replacement, but if it breaks again, I'm never coming back. He did a traditional bridge for the final replacement, and I haven't had any problems since.

I hate the dentist.

Hehe. I did almotst the same thing. A few years ago when I was getting a crown I had the temp cover in while I was waiting for the crown to be made. I was eating bit-o-honey at work and sure as shiat.. Out came the temp crown stuck smack dab in my candy. :)

I hear ya Hazel, sucks bad. I got mine fixed later that day though.

I didn't used to hate the dentist, but I do now. I REALLY don't like needles so the last couple of times I went to the dentist, I wouldn't let them give me ANY shots. This time I did and I guess it helped...but my mouth is very hard to numb. So after he was finished, he had given me so much novacaine(SP?) I was numb to my ear. Blech! They'll fix it for free. My insurance covers everything. But if it didn't, I would surelly have them do it anyway. This will be the second time going in since getting it done. :|

LOL! I dont' know what my doc will say, but I can't wait to get there. This temp thing seems to be holding okay, but I'll feel better when I get it fixed. :)

but then you can't zap it with the blue laser thingy! that things all cool, they make you wear the radiation vest. I figure if you're beaming radiation into my face, why the hell will the vest make a difference? But I have to wear it anyway. But hell, its kinda comfy, like a really heavy blanket.

I feel so left out; I don't have this problem... I have no fillings! (no cavities, either... I never, ever had one as a kid.)

Thanks, Robyn. If they don't agree to fix it, will you beat them up?

I had to add a little more of the temp stuff this morning because a little came out last night. UGH

They have temporary fillings at Wal-Mart? What a country!

Ditto that!

Well Hzl, I'm sorry you are suffering but consider this an information service to the board. Now I now what to do if it ever happens to me!

:D
