I just found out today that I did not get in to MBA program that I applied to...

I currently dont know what to do with my life, I graduated last dec from UC Berkeley.... however I searched high and low for jobs... but so far no luck (being an international student makes it harder too)

I am at the crossroads of my life, I can go back to my home country.... or maybe apply to other grad schools.... However I am also thinking whether spending $200k for a MBA degree is worth it or not....

arghhhhhhhhh I wish for the days that I was still in college.... the only things that I have to worry about was midterms and projects.... now its like I dont have any idea what to do with my life...

thanks for reading my vent

i'm in the same boat (uc berkeley, dec grad).

don't feel so lost. look at this as an opportunity to do anything the hell you want!

bah, if only i could follow my own advice.

thats veery true... I can think of this as the real start of my life... so many opportunities...
I wish I know how to choose the right one though....

school this and school that, and whaddya know, even people who got a degree are out of work. w00h00!

anyways, maybe you just need to look in the right places. get a career counsellor maybe.

Sorry to hear that....

I have some advice for you, try to get something meaningful done each day... for me it's working out, it makes me feel great, for you it can be whatever you are interested in doing... whether it's working out or programming, both or neither, only you know...

Do you have anyone to talk to about how you feel?

In my experience, depression only gets worse if you don't do anything about it (my experience with this matter is very limited though)...

I know it may sound stupid, but it's less stupid than it sounds...

I don't know about you but I see a lot of jobs available. I'm trying to hire, but I can't find the right people to fill it in. It pays anything from $60/hr to $15/hr on the administrative side and $40-100/hr for the IT side. That is for one of my jobs. On the other, I was given a green light to hire whoever I think is capable.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you should not apply for an MBA straight out of undergrad. You should have 3-5 yrs of work experience 1st. That is a big consideration in admissions, and you would get more out of the degree as well.

if you want to do an mba program, especially a reputable mba program, you're definitely going to need work experience in order to get accepted.

Ok maybe 200k is a little bit too much... but I need to include living cost in addition to tuition fee

Hi guys, welcome to the boat. Btw, you're sitting on my diploma, and I need that to write my suicide note.

Well, always look on the bright side of life. Really though, only thing you can do is wait it out. MBA programs require years of work experience anyways.
