Man, I know how you feel! I think I'll start running today just because of this thread. I almost (seriously) threw a tear because of how bad I too feel. I've been going out with a girl for almost a year now and since then, I haven't been exercising much. I was at 234lbs (my peak) and was at 172lbs. I'm 6ft tall and I'm about 188-ish right now and it's not stopping. My diet has too changed. My girlfriend use to be in track and very very athletic, but she developed asthma and she can't do much anymore, as far as exercising and athletics goes. She's one of those girls who is 'naturally slim' and can eat whatever she wants, but it really has taken a toll on me. I feel like crap, my pants don't fit as well as they use to, and my face feels 'fat'. I'm sure you know the feeling. Smiling just doesn't seem right.

Of course the lady says I look great still, but that is just an opinion. If you don't feel great INSIDE (heart, soul) then you are not feeling as good as you could and it has an affect on your day-to-day personality, enthusiasm, and self-esteem.

Good luck...we all need to work together! Damn fried foods and Kool-Aid!

maybe you and the gf can goto the gym together?

last year i went from 210 to roughly 180. i have yet to make it under 178 but now im back at 185 and pretty much maintaining weight. its tough, but totally doable. and having a gf doesn't help. last year without a gf to tie me down i was pretty resolute in losing weight.

In 2 months I went from 230 to 196, it just takes a good diet, cardio/exercising, and a resolve to lose weight :)

Sounds like a roller coaster bud.... you slack off for a while, do 3 hours, get burned out, and then go another few weeks without going :)

I was 185 and ripped 9 years ago when I got married at 29.
I'm 38 now, have two bad shoulders, two bad knees, a bad attitude, and I weigh 240 pounds.
I'm still very active, I coach two girl's softball teams and go like hell.
When I manage to lose 20 pounds, I gain 30 back.

I've narrowed the problem down to my approach.
I usually use a no carb diet to drop my weight. The problem with that is I get really weird when my sugar gets down. It's pretty uncomfortable and I tend to get pretty depressed.
I persevere, lose the weight, then cure the misery by hitting the sugar.

Hell is, my faves are sugar, steak and pasta.

I'm doomed. :(

At least I know the problem is in my head, so I should be able to get it under control when I'm willing to make an effort.
