I'm sick of not knowing enough about cars!

I got a 2004 Mazda6. And all my friends say i should do this to the car or i should do that. The problem is that i know very little about cars. All i know is that i should have my oil filter change every 3000 miles... Can anyone please give this n00b some links to increase my car knowledge skills. Thanks.

Buy a shop manual for you car and start reading.

Find an old 350 chevy block you can strip down and rebuild and maybe take an auto mechanics class at you local community college.

That'll get you started 😉

Your friends probably don't know sh!t about cars either. Let me guess, they want you to put a cold air intake on it?

And a new exhaust tip, spoiler, cut springs ...

I'm going to go with "Your friends are ricers" for $200, Alex.

Are you talking about maintenance on the car or putting fart cans and CIA. If you're referring to car maintenance then a shop manual would help. If you're not talking about maintenance then stickers will give you 10 more hp.

There are often message boards, like this one, but for a specific brand of cars. I frequently visit the Ultimate Subaru Message Board for info when working on my car. Lots of smart people usually willing to help out.
