buy the cheapest case/psu combo, since most likely for that $20 investment, the PSU is ass.
run windows ME
buy mobos only from these manufacterers, ECS, PC CHIPS, BIOSTAR
soundcard, any creative will do
ram? generic. no name. cheapest one you can get.

You're making this much too difficult for yourself. Just pick one of your current systems and install every piece of spyware you can find! Hotbar is highly recommended :)

Mobo brand: an obscure one (Jetblue?)
chipset brand: ALi
Ram: Ultra (from Tigerdirect)
PSU: Powmax
Case (that is like razor blades): dunno
Video card: S3/Trident/XGI
sound card: something noname
NIC: they tend to work
monitor: get a random tube at Costco
keyboard/mouse: iconcepts
speakers: Cyber Acoustics (at OfficeMax)
operating system: WinME

Hehe, that should be an interesting config :)

Get a barebones from Tigerdirect and load it with WinMe. Stick with 64 megs of ram so the thrill will last longer. :D

Yea but look at the experience you've gained. You know there are some things you just can't put a price on.
