I'm sick of environmentalism

Really we could all pollute all we wanted and have almost no impact on the environment compared to the impact we would have driving our fuel sipping cars and growing our organic food.

There are too many damned people on this planet and I think it is time our generation did something about it. It would be so easy. Snip snip and then no more environmental problems 😉

1. Kids Suck
2. Environmentalism has become a religion. Conservationism/keeping sh!t nice for people to live is one thing, keeping people down so turtles can be happy is a whole different kettle of tea.

well if nobody has kids and we get our population to a reasonable level i can drive my sports car and the turtle can be happy too. there would be room for the both of us.

environmentalism as we know it would not be an issue because we would not all be jam packed into this big can of sardines we areliving in.

What you propose can only happen when the entire planet becomes fully industrialized, otherwise kids will be an asset, which will in turn encourage population growth.

"Yes, because our quality of life, including our spiritual lives, has absolutely NOTHING to do with the health of the environment. We can all be perfectly healthy in a pollution filled cesspool where the only things left alive are humans and cock roaches. Who NEEDS the Amazon jungle, turtles, butterflies, sloths, monkies, lizards - they don't sell, they don't produce, they don't contribute to the ECONOMY (in a way that my feeble brain can comprehend). Waste of space."

The world if flat my friend. We are already have way there. And most of the world is making a lot of progress. Africa, frankly, is a big mess and will be for a long time, but that not distract us from our goal.

Why can't the industralized coutries stop reproducing? You just said they could. What, you won''t do it unless they do it? I won't jump unless you have to jump too? Is that the excuse you are making?

If industrialized countries stopped reproducing (really they are already on their way -- most industrialzied places, including the US, are below 2 kids per woman. That we grow is stricts immigration.

But now if we stopped being selfish for a couple hundred years, and gave up our right to have children, we could open the floodgates to immigration and take on the burden that all the children of Africa and other third world countires have become.

But now that would be kind of selfless and you want your own kids.

I am going to argue that it is our selfish culture that is the cause of overpopulation -- not those in Africa that don't have the education to know any better.

We are educated, we could make the sacrifice -- but we are selfish, choose not to and place the blame and burden on those less educated 😉

So, it's our fault, but not the Africans? Give me a break.

We need more gay people.

And heterosexuals should develop some self control, and stop screwing like rabbits. Or use birth control. Let's face it, the first kid is almost always an "accident", next thing you know they have 3 kids.

Wow, how blind can you be? I'm not an enviromentalist, but the overall water temperature of the world is rising and it is having a contributing effect to hurricanes. You think this year was bad for tropical storms and hurricanes? It's going to get worse.

On a somewhat related topic...

I've heard that things like a warming climate and a hole in the ozone layer could be part of a natural cycle the Earth goes through. Was just wondering if anyone has any evidence that either proves or disproves that.

I hear there is this new breed of people branding themselves a-sexuals.

Now that is a group we should lend our support to.

future edit: I am totally serious! Look it up - it's like the next gay right movement.

Although I personally predict awareness of aspergers/autism esque disorders will be the next group to come out of the closet 😉

Oh brother ... You know China, till fairly recently, had a law of only one child per family. It is an issue in parts of the world and it will be here to in time.
