I'm sick and tired of this. . . Yet another neighbor thread. . .

episodic

Lifer
My neighbor has like 10 cats running around. They have got real aggressive with getting into my garbage and ripping it apart.

It happens every dang day, and I'm tired of it. I've mentioned it to her, and she is like - well that is what cats do.

It is really getting to be a chore to pick the garbage up everyday. I'm on the verge of putting the loose garbage on her front porch.

What would you do if you were me?

Ask her to pick up the garbage every time it happens.

Eh, not good enough. Just throw the bags on her lawn. When she asks what you're doing simply say "Well since they're going to tear the bags up anyway, might as well do it on your propery since they're your cats."

I would ask her to pick up the garbage every time the cats get into it. If she refuses, I'd report it to the police as littering/animal control on the part of the neighbor.

I have 10 cats... and i can tell you... if my cats were annoying the neighbors... i would keep them in the house at all times.

Not only is it rude and disrespectful that she would have this attitude about it, but it would scare me to death that someone might poison one of them for spite. She is a stupid woman. And you should look up the town ordinences... most have laws about the number of pets someone can have especially if they are roaming the streets.

Tell her to buy you a new garbage can, with a snap type locking lid for a start, and that she will be cleaning the mess from now on. Or you will report her immediately.

Sh*t!!! I hate ppl that do not control/care for their pets properly.

Good luck with that! I have trouble keeping one cat in the house-every freaking time I open the patio door that cat is there trying to sneak out.

10 cats is just crazy!

get a dog. If you don't want to do that, I hear there are some chemicals you can spray on stuff to keep cats/rodents out of your yard. It's totally safe, but just annoys the cats so they don't stick around.

I'd be looking at chemicals that were not safe for cats.

Get a live trap and set it by your garbage can. Take anything you catch to the humane society.

Can you believe where I live there is no humane society or pound?

1. Buy a 55 gallon drum of mothballs (or smaller size - price break at 1000 - Millhouse)
2. Spread in affected area.
3. Enjoy smell.

Killing them is going to seem way too obvious right now especially if you leave the bodies around (i.e. Aruba) - but if you can trap and remove them - then kill them or place them in such a place as to cause them harm (have an alibi of course) - that might work too!

Remember Jim Carey in Me, Myself and Irene he finally took a dumb on the neighbor's lawn after he couldn't take the dogs pooping in his yard - sweet!

My neighbor also has a stray cat that's been on the lose for like a month now , it doesnt get into much trash that i know of, but its annoying and poops on everyones grass and makes it stink/ look bad 🙁

I tried baiting the little kitty but it kept backing up to this one house and i couldnt go much further or stay there because I didnt wanna be caught "trespassing" 🙁
