Depends on the class, some I do early cause they're kinda nifty, the others get put off as long as possible

I've been doing homework at the last minute since junior high (now in college).

I'm still making A's, so I see no point in doing it early :)

I really only do my Math and Science homework, because that's what I really enjoy. English and History get second seat to that, usually its done half-assed, but bullshittable enough to get a A-B. Since I started Government/Law, I have found myself doing that homework more too, so English/Language Arts has become my least priority.

In high school I did 0 studying, was straight-A's. I did show up for class. College I studied some, but less than most I think. Grad school the same. Some classes 0 studying (math), never did homework unless it was collected. I know I'm not that smart, so I can see where the really smart people wouldn't have to study and could get straight-As.

obviously the level of challenge varies greatly among schools, programs, and individual classes. if you're not studying and getting all A's what does it say about the quality of your education?

I didn't do a whole lot of studying in high school but it has come back to bite me in the ass in college if I want A's and B's. I can get C's with little effort. I get mostly B's and due to my poor study habit I rarely get A's unless I have an awesome teacher or I take a class like "Coaching Football" (gotta love Kienesology classes)

It kind of depends on the person and the class. I've never had a problem pulling A's without studying in physics or philosophy. History, on the other hand requires a decent chunk of studying to get anything above a b.

Yeah, I've got a friend manages all honors courses (math, science, english) among other hard courses at my high school, pulls off straight a's each time, and claims he never does any work and how easy HS is...

I am still inclined to believe that these people who "piss their way through High School" went to sh!t ass schools. At my school there is no way you could do that, no matter how brilliant you are.

if you are in highschool, its fvckin easy, 1 hour of studying a week for straight As evening taking all AP classes, if your in college if you get straight As w/o studying you either goto a sh!tty college or have an easy major.

Yet again..besides studying, there is something called HW. If have only 1hr of HW a week and you are taking AP classes, your school fcking sucks, and so does your teacher.

I would be inclined to agree, except that the school i went to is classed within the A Grade schools...ie the best in britain. For example, in my resistant materials class i had to produce a 50 page A3 folder of work/design/methods plus a workin product within a year @ 3 x 50mins lessons a week plus on top of that having to learn theory as well. I came out of that with an A*

Well..see..thats great..but are you talking about how easy it was? Was it a "cakewalk"? I doubt it. These guys are saying how they only studied an hr a week taking AP classes, but what about the work that comes with those classes.

I actually just had this conversation yesterday with some people. Not to get all touchy-feely, but it's true: People have different strengths. Some people have to work harder at school than others to get good grades. It all evens out in the end somewhere.

I guess that sort of goes for anything. No matter what it is, no matter how good you are at it, there's someone out there who works half as hard as you at it and is twice as good as you at it.

That is true..but..work is work...I don't care how smart you are, but unless your hand can move at the speed of light, you should still be spending time doing homework.
