basically because im not sure if the drivers for my mobo NIC will work. i have an ECS p4m800pro that i bought from frys with the intel e4300 proc. will the drivers from the driver disk work in vista? please reassure me and keep me from shaking in my boots.

That's a VIA based board, has a VIA PHY VT6103 NIC, I found this info link ,
For the LAN driver you can use the integrated driver from windows vista

so looks like native support,as to other drivers most will problaby be already supported natively by Vista, but you can get them from here. So looks like you'll be fine.

You can always just install and not activate right away. play around for a month and if you have issues just go back to xp until sp1
