I'm really disappointed...

I was turned down today for an opportunity to achieve a major career goal of mine. I'm only 20, and the position I was applying for is one that many people wait their whole lives to get into, but it still hurts. I honestly thought I had a real chance to achieve this goal, and I was honestly surprised when I received my rejection today. I guess I counted my chickens a little early.

If there's any consolation I can take with this disappointment, it's that I did everything possible I could to achieve this goal...and I suppose my qualifications simply didn't fit the criteria for the position.

The hard part now is getting back all that motivation I lost when I opened the letter today.

med school or a job?

you just have to keep trying and trying then try some more. you'd be surprised one day that all the trying may pay dividends...

good luck!

You're 20 now and you have taken your last shot at success and failed.

It's all over. Move on.

I know, I know...I'm such a whiner. ;)

I'm definitely disappointed, but I know there will be other opportunities.

Thanks for the humor...it's exactly what I need now. :)

You'll be fine. Like you said, most people have to wait their whole lives for that position. Just give it time. Just being able to apply with that confidence shows that you're a leader. Keep going, keep trying, try again later, my friend. You sir, rock. Feel better? :)

Not only other opportunities will exist for you, but better opportunities. :)

Edit: Damn, I just realized, I could be writing these little one-liners for fortune cookie companies. ;)
