Not cause they are bad shoes, or dont preform to what I expected. Its just that I bought them, and havent had time to ride yet. Fvcking school and homework. Gah.

EDIT: now im poor for the next week and realise that I could have waited to buy them when I had time to use them.

I just bought these (the white ones). My Sidis were not playing nice with my feet on anything over 60 miles.

I have the cheaper version of those shoes. Forgot the model number though. I just put SPDs on them though, ;) because I spin and am trying to ride fixie. I should upgrade to the SLs. oh well.

Nah, if they make your feet happy, stick with them. Shoes are too expensive to just buy for no good reason.

My shoes too unless mine are the '05 model (is there a difference?). They rock! The Geniuses, even the Megas simply didn't fit right. Look red cleats, BTW.

I'm looking forward to giving the Pro Carbons a try. They feel better right out of the box, so I'm hoping they'll work for me on the road.

Speedplay Zeros here. Scraped one for the first time last weekend in a crit. :Q

Wow! I would have thought you'd have a hard time scraping such tiny pedals. I've scraped Looks a few times, but Speedplays? You're the man!

Sticky tires (Maxxis Xeniths) + tight crit course = scrape.

Some guy lowsided right in front of me doing the same thing on Looks. I can't say I miss chunking pedals like that.

I really don't race, and can't imagine I'll ever race crits, but I must admit I have always been a little freaked-out by Speedplays. A good friend who rides a lot less than me likes his, though, so I guess I could probably deal. For now I'm very happy with the SPD-SLs.

I was using the Campy Pro-Fits but they had a tendency to release at weird times and I was having issues with my right knee, so I switched.

They feel a little weird at first, but I don't notice them at all now. Of course, these are the ones with the adjustable float, not the original Speedplays with 20 degrees each direction. I've got mine dialed in for maybe 8 degrees total float.

I have Sidi Genius. After I bought them, Fausto went and copied me. Then posted pictures of himself racing in them, showing off. This was about a year ago. The pain is almost gone.

I'll re-open the wounds by posting macros of the carbon soles on my new shoes. :D

Oh yeah? Why don't you go one better and go work at some cool government agency? Maybe one that deals in dangerous viruses and bacteria and was the focus of one of the coolest movies of all time staring the Hollywood dream team of Morgan Freeman, Rene Russo, and Dustin Hoffman? Jesus Christ! :)

Those shoes better not give you bister or pop off the clip for the price. Don't buy into the hype, I have had cheap to very expensive bike shoes over the course of 20 years and found that some cheap shoes perform just as well as the expensive ones.

It is critical to find a good fitting pair and match it with your weight/power/riding style. All SPD cleats aren?t the same so find a pair that give you the knees and ankle the play that fit your riding style. Mountain bike pedal and cleats can be use for road bike as well because it often have better traction surface and better cleat protection.

Yes and no. It totally depends on your foot. I have weird feet, so I'm willing to pony up for the spendy shoes if it means I don't get screaming hotfoot in long races.

True to some extent, but MTB shoes aren't stiff enough for serious road riding/racing IMHO.

I was going to buy those! After I tried on a few different sizes I went with the sidis, they felt better at the store. Hopefully they work well when I actually ride with them on!

My bike isnt anything special, just a Lemond Tourmelet. I used to MTB alot and got into cycling a few months back

That what I have heard from every roadie I came across, while MTB riders doesn't complaint as much ;)

True, however most people that own only one pair of cleat do not race.

I'm too old to race, but not too old to ride.
<-- misses my roadie & cross country/downhill days :(
