"Fans attending Saturday's Kansas State-Marshall football game at Joan C. Edwards Stadium were asked to "Bring a buck" to help aid victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The stadium-record crowd of 36,914 fans brought over $520,000.00
Saturday's fundraising effort was organized by campus student groups, including the MU student government association. The money collected will be given to the American Red Cross' relief effort.
The fundraiser is the largest fundraising effort for Katrina victims by a student body since the hurricane hit."
Nice to know that the fans' hearts were in the right place and they were in a giving mood, too bad the coaching staff carried it too far and gave the game away as well.
It did make the lousy outcome of the game just a little bit easier to take though.
Go Herd fans!
