I've never been a fan of fullscreen modes in a browser, but it rocks now!

Press F11 and try it . . .

I believe this trick has been around for a while, at least I use it with IE at work and I deal mainly with winXP machines and IE 6

16/9 (well not exactly) 30 inch LCD + full screen mode = stretched internet. Too wide for my tastes. I keep my browser occupying about 1/3 of the horizontal width of this screen and the full height.

I think it's a waste on a 'normal' landscape monitor. But it's pretty damn nice on a two monitor setup where one is in portrait orientation. Once you experience this you'll wonder how you ever survived without it.

IE has had a full-screen mode assigned to F11 for quite a number of years now, dating back to pre-IE6 if I'm not mistaken.

Firefox 2 also has fullscreen mode when you press F11, and I think FF1 may have as well. FF2 keeps the address bar and tabs though.

It will probably make it crash, just like everything else. :disgust:

Full-screen's been around for a while and is great.

Am I not the only one with this? I usually don't bring it up and stick with Opera or IE7 anyway, but FF3 crashes like crazy on me. Whatever though.

I may be wrong here....but I don't think that the revelation was the F11 key. I believe it was that everything including other open tabs are basically "auto-hide".
