.. i didn't know where to ask this.
i'm quite a newbie and here's the thing

i own a19 inch CRT Samsung 959NF which has a NEC diamontron tube.

when i calibrate colors through my monitor's external controls, i use 8800k for white, and there are 3 bars for red green and blue that i use them at 100%. i think they where at 50% when i firstly installed it and white at 6500 but colors were very warm and dull to my taste.
i think with my own settings colors look amazing, but, is there any reason i shouldn't use these settings? am i gonna kill my CRT ahead of its time?
i read somewhere that i may be pushing some phosphor "things" too much.

sorry for the vocabulary, i'm new to this
thanx

Even if you cut 5 years off its life, its still gonna outlive it's own usefullness. and the brightness settings would impact it a lot more if this were true.

a crt used for graphic applications is actually usable for that long?
it actually makes me feel better for having my brightness to 82%..
