Ubuntu FTW... This is the frist time I've ever installed or used Linux... So far, I'm impressed, very much so. :thumbsup:

I got ubuntu installed.. or was it that redhat fedora thing.... oh well doesnt' matter. haven't booted into that in months

big deal. I'm posting from Ubuntu on my laptop right now. I'm gonna format it though and put windows vista beta on here once my ram upgrade comes in the mail.

edit: I've used linux before and I liked KDE a lot better than I'm liking gnome.
 
You know I like linux I really do. But I just don't use it as my desktop operating system because I enjoy gaming so much. It's too bad that there aren't more Linux ported games and that ATi's driver support under the operating system isn't too hot. So for me it's relegated to running my home servers.
 
Just rebooted one of my boxes and I am now posting from Oracle. 😉

I made it a point a couple years ago, to learn how to get on the net from every operating system known.

BTW, that doesn't mean I know squat about them, beyond that.

Oracle = RDBMS

Oracle != OS
 
congrats on learning a different operating system.

All my boxes have unix on them. However, I don't feel the need to annonce on here that I'm posting from linux or unix.

and what is weird about using linux?

it's a great operating system. It fits my needs a lot more then windows does.
