Hey guys, I'm throwing a 'film festival." It's just about a dozen of my friends getting together to watch a bunch of movies for 8-12 hours straight at my friend's home theater setup. I don't have a theme at the moment but I do have some ideas for what I want to show. I'm looking for ENTERTAINING movies. I really don't want to show 2001: A Space Odyssey followed by a silent film followed by 8 1/2 followed by more film school stuff. I like that stuff but my friends will kill me if they have sit through 12 hours of it. Maybe 2 hours of art film but not much more.

I'm looking for stuff that everyone hasn't seen (which is tough given my crowd.) Here's some of the stuff that I've been thinking about:

Donnie Darko - Director's Cut
Return to Oz
Touch of Evil
Frailty
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Empire Strikes Back
The Good the Bad and the Ugly
Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Cinema Paradiso
Finding Neverland
City of God
Alien or Aliens
M
The Seventh Seal
The 400 Blows
The Lady Eve
Assault on Precint 13
Ivans XTC
Bottle Rocket
Rebecca
The Color of Money
Steamboy
Office Space
Croupier
The King is Alive
Hollywood Homicide (theme "movies that should have sucked but didn't)
Wet Hot American Summer
Pinnochio
Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India
Trains Planes and Automobiles
Some Miyasaki stuff
The Warriors

Anyway, suggest away. What's some cool stuff that'll be really entertaining that maybe I haven't seen BUT I TOTALLY NEED TO!!!

if you want a film festival in a they're all related sense.. do johnny depp. you can do finding neverland from your list, and benny and joon and gilbert grape and chocolat and edward scissorhands. that'd be a good day for a group that includes girls.

Grave of the Fireflies: animated and really depressing, but a good film
Fight Club: although I'm sure most of your buddies have seen it
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust: awesome animated movie, entertaining and has a lot of action
American Beauty: interesting movie
