Tomorrow, I'm going to the dealership to pick up my brand new 2003 Silver Toyota Tacoma Double Cab PreRunner Limited Edition with the obligatory TRD Package and spray-in bedliner.

Being quoted $23,200 which seems like a darned reasonable price.

I'm gonna update the thread tomorrow with PICS!

--------------------------------------
UPDATE

I got it! I spent way too long at the dealership, but managed to strike a fair deal with the finance manager. It ended up being a little over $25,000 after all was said and done.

And of course, with the obligatory pic

Nice. Tacoma owner myself. I wish they have the double cab when I bought back in 2000. It has been running good and never had any problems.

It could be called the "TTDCPR600i LE" if that's better. Names like that seem to be popular these days.

My brother has a 2002 Tacoma. Very nice truck!!!

I want one.

I just bought my wife a 2003 Toyota Corrola LE.

Prerunner- Named after the vehicles used to Pre- Run Races courses (ie Baja races) - Toyota brillantly market a 2wd vehicle with the look, ground clearance, suspension of its 4wd vehicle - minus the transfercase front wheel drive parts which is sold for less than its 4wd counterpart. Basically for all the people that want the look/height of the 4wd vehicle but don't want/need 4wd.

TRD package- Toyota Racing Development - Toyotas way of increasing the price of the vehicle by adding a wheel upgrade package, slightly better shocks, progressive rate coils, TRD stickers and the only real reason to get the TRD package - (because the other stuff is not really worth the money)
ELECTRIC REAR LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL!

The addition of the Rear locker on the 2wd Prerunner makes it pretty offroad capable although it is no replacement for 4wd.
However the Tacoma 4wd with the Factory rear locker is probably one of the best all around Factory 4wd for the $$$$ value.

Hey! Thanks for replying to the PreRunner/TRD thing for me. Essentially, it gives the 4x2 version of the Tacoma a higher clearance, better shocks, locking rear diff, etc of the 4x4 without actually being the offroad capable 4x4. I know it might seem like I'm trying to be a poser, but eh, I couldn justify spending $2,500 more than I had to.
