well i plan to get a LCD (viewsonic v171b) soon so i would want a video card with DVI. the only game i really ever play is unreal tournament (the 1999 version). i'm happy with my GF2 pro with the game so i'm sure nearly everything recommended would fit

- so i need something that can produce good frame rates for that (at least 85 on max everything at 1280x1024... even though i dont think that max frame rate matters for LCDs).

- something cheap, under $100 would be very good but no more than $150

- it would be nice if there was an ATI AIW product in this price range that still does the performance i want, but i wouldnt mind an nvidia product if it has nice features like video capture, tv input or similar

- something compatible with my mobo of Asus A7N8X 2.0 deluxe

- a reputable brand or distributer like say hercules or asus etc etc. i don't want a brown box type of brand

- if possible something from newegg for thats where i'm getting the LCD from

thanks in advance

Um... sorry, doesn't exist. Closest you could get would be a 9600 pro in that price range.... But it won't get 85fps w/ 8xAA and 16xAF, full detail and quality, at 1280x1024. In fact, no card will do that in the newest games. So... for under a hundred dollars, you're being unrealistic.

If you do find a card that does all that... look on the shelf next to it, and bring me back one of those golden egg layin' geese.

I think he was talking about in unreal tourament. A 8500/9100 for about $75 should work fine for you I think.

Uhh... maybe you should reread his post. All he plays is UT 99.
