Somehow my dad and I managed to put in 40 hours in the past nine days..

It's on to evil AOL for me now, meaning less time here.

Tis a sad day..

40 hours in 9 days? That's nothing...my monthly usage is approximately 700 hours. My computer never gets turned off and I have DSL :)

Why not pay for a ISP? Isn't dial up like $4.99 a month now?!

I agree with kami. For instance for $4.95 you get 150 hours of dialup Internet access from AT&T's Worldnet ISP. At least it's a REAL ISP instead of AOL which is a bloatware ISP.

Here's what you get for $4.95 per month:
6 e-mail ID?s and up to 60MB personal Web page space
Instant Messaging, Online Communities, Chat and Newsgroups
Online Customer Support
E-Mail Screener to eliminate junk e-mail
Child safety software
Useful navigation bar that links you to popular sites and provides offers tailored to your preferences whenever you're online

I didn't read all the fine print so I'm not sure if there's any catches to this low price? I have seen it advertised on TV though.
