Im not your typical gambler, before I started playing poker seriously I learned the intracacies of the game. I understand pot odds/implied odds etc. And I consider myself to be a very patient person. I play within my bankroll, and have done fairly well. Even after 'retiring' now Im up a couple hundred over the last few months. Not bad, but it could have been a lot better. My biggest problem was after taking a 'bad beat' (yes I know, its sort of a cliche) I would get all riled up and try to win it back fast, thus making real bad decisions. Overall I like my game, I think Im a pretty good player and Im pretty sure I could win more money if I continued playing. But right now Im going to let it go. I am going to uninstall all the poker clients from my computer and hang up the cards for awhile. Instead I will spend my free time doing things that will not offer me a monetary gain, such as rehabbing my knee, playing video games, reading a book, or doing handstands in the living room.
If I want to make money I will restrict myself to only real jobs where I cannot also lose money at the same time.
