I think the only thing I can say about this place is... wow.

When I first arrived I was not prepared to see what I did. To say this place looks like a hellhole is an understatement. I could have never imagined a place like this. My initial thoughts were "I can't believe I came here. I want to leave!".

It's now my 4th day here and things are getting a little better. I've met a bunch of people at the hotel I'm staying in. The city is very vibrant and there are shops everywhere. It's gonna take some getting used to, but I think I can take it.

I don't have any pictures yet, but maybe soon.

Kolkata

oh jeez ofcourse it looks like hellhole. It's probably the biggest city in the world(in terms of population) and also one of the poorest(in comparison with other Indian cities).

My dad was born in India and I've been there 5 times now, the last being 4 years ago (bearing in mind I'm 20). I really have no desire to go back either in the near future...

Really? I would say the vast majority wouldn't turn down a trip to the US! But then again even 0.1% of the population would be more than 1m ppl so that could well be the case.

You don't seem to understand. I have no want to visit any place in that entire region.
