Shame isn't it? Just going through life, day by day, one office cubicle to another, office shirt on, only worried about bills and 401ks with no sense of humor, beat down by the pressures of career and marriage.

Seriously though, I've seen people turn into straight zombies from age 20 to age 30. It is sad.
Staying passionate about things is important, true. Worrying about your 401k is important too though.

working with my older brother and friend who are both 4 years older than me.

Brother can barely stand because his back is fucked...friend can barely walk because his knees are fucked..and there is me who is doing cart wheels around the job.

Did I get lucky or am I due for a debilitating injury?

I'm 45.

*edited to add...we are all gas fitters*

People think I am you here, why do you think they do? I never had any conversation with you.I dont know you. Am I like you? You are old enough to be my father if you are 45.

I thought that you were 15... huh?

I would say he was in his early 20s. He should not be that old. Otherwise I should not sound like him at all. He is too old to sound like me. When I become 45, I dont think I would be the way I am

Your post count certainly reflects his. October 2014 join date and over 246 posts already. Most of them are in OT maybe all of them but I'm to lazy to look.

53 and have done all of the above, except the tick.

Knee is a bit messed up right now, they heal slower.

I'll refrain from obligatory nukeage.

It's getting redundant, and if you're that old haven't learned much over time, I do not believe it.
Or they don't heal at all. Getting old gracefully is not something most people do; most don't bother trying, but even among those who do try your body can have different plans. I already feel I have cartilage issues in one knee more than I should at my age. Hoping that orthopaedic medicine finally cures that sort of thing before a knee replacement comes along.
I disagree. Jack Lalane and Sylvester Stallone are two examples of people who have lived healthy lifestyles all of their lives. Inactivity and poor eating are the reasons why are bodies quickly deteriorate. Genetics plays a big part as well.
So does being paid to do that. When your job and millions of doting fans are looking on it helps motivation. When nobody else gives a shit except you it's much easier to skip a workout. And in any case, they are, as you said, genetically gifted.

Most of us are fat and lazy though and getting old is a lot worse than it has to be.
