Since moving to Omaha, I don't think I've ever witnessed such blatent and wreckless disregard for left turn arrows. The arrow turns red, and 3 cars shoot through the intersection.
But, the more I drive, the more I find I'm stuck behind some 90 year old woman in a Buick that has to take three puffs off her inhaler, make 6 checks to make sure the light *really is* green, and then proceeds to creep through the intersection at 1.4MPH.
Instead of letting 8 cars go through the sequence, 1.5 make it and another 3 run the red.
I wish that red light running could be cut down, but I understand why at least some of it happens.
*sigh*
This was a rant with no real point. Just venting with no hopes of accomplishing anything.
Thank you for listening.
