I bought a computer off a guy for 100$ figuring i could fix it. It wouldn't post and i tried everything from bad memory, cpu to searching wires for a short. I got tired of fiddlin with it and took the chipset coolers off to keep em. Once i get it off i see this.

There was no cracking noise or tension when the heatsinks came off so i'm assuming it was already broke.

I tried to pull the part off from the heatsink but its on there really good. Would over heating cause this?
