I'm not sure if my 6600 GT is running as fast as it should.

Your score seems fine for your rig. Yes, an FX-55 is much faster than your cpu. Also, since you have a socket754 athlon, your ram may be running slower than it should be.

If you have 2 sticks of double-sided DDR400 ram installed, then check your bios or use sisoft sandra benchmark to see if it's actually running at DDR333 instead.

It's a problem with using more than 1 stick of double-sided ddr. If your ram is single-sided then it should be running at full speed. 🙂
 
It makes more sence now. I the Farcry demo at 1280x1024 with 4xAA to take the load off of the CPU and was only behind by 1 FPS.
