Right now as it stands, I'm fairly certain I will receive an outstanding (highest) rating from my current department I'm in for my efforts. My only worry is the fact that I'm moving to a new department in a couple of weeks. The way my company works is each department is allowed to give a certain % (10-15%) of outstanding ratings a certain % (70-80% the majority) of satisfactory ratings and a the last few are unsatisfactory (if you really don't perform).
My issue is, I will be on the headcount of my new department for only 3 months and I will not be rated as an outstanding because I'm the "new guy" and only have 3 months in the department. I think they may want to leave the outstanding ratings for the people who worked hard in the department all year long. I've busted my ass in this department and deserve the rating, however, because my current department can't do a thing about it, I may get shafted (even though most of the year was rated as an outstanding).
Anyone have any ideas or opinions?
