I'm not into driving, but what's the best/fun toy car that can be had for $15-18K?

How are those Mini-Coopers? And the other day, I saw this marvelous BMW sports-car convertible -- emerald-green. Don't know the model name. It must cost a pile of change. And the Mini-Coopers don't have an economy-model price, either. . . .

Mini Coopers aren't known to be super reliable. Go carts but spends a lot of time in the shop (especially the JCWs).

BMW convertible "sports car", Z3 or the new Z4. Z3s are alright in terms of maintenance from what I've read but not worth unless you get the 6 cylinder versions (or if you a big ass baller, the M).

Z4s are still too expensive (and will be for a while)

I think saving up for maintenance is a good idea though. I knew a guy that had one and it had some occasional issues. But that's my small anecdotal sample size.

I liked the shooting brake the best... clown shoe car for me please.

Interesting. My friend must have gotten a lemon.

Too bad Z4s are too small for me. I had one of those as a loaner a few years ago as well. Almost brand new - only a few thousand miles.

Pretty awesome car.
