Yeah baby! I took my Calc II final, and I should get at least a 2.0 in the class.

It's funny, last year I nearly cried when I got a C in Stats because I had to miss the final, this year I'm dancing a jig of joy over a C. Things have changed...

I think I just owned an industrial organization final. I think. I hope.

Or, I really dont know anything in the class and am just lying to myself.

I use to be an A student in HS. After 3 years of college, I dont expect much anymore.

The worst is when you get a notice from the class after the midterm, telling you to drop the course cuz you will fail. And you have an F going into the final. This has happened to me three times, and it's about to happen again tomorrow. :(

But I've had a really good track record. The three times that I have had an F going into the final, I've made it out with a B- each time. :D Finals worth 40% of the final grade are a slacker's dream!!!!

Ah, only THREE more to go until winter break!

Geometric series are simple:
3, -1, 1/3, -1/9...
that's a geometric series with a = 3, r = -1/3. a is your starting number, r is what that number is multiplied by to get the next number, and what that number is multiplied by to get the one after that, etc. It converges as long as the absolute value of r is less than one

a p series is a geometric series of the form 1/(n^p). It converges if p is greater than 1

a harmonic series is of the form 1/n, which diverges.

college doesn't suck, but full time college + full time work = double time suck.

edit:

Series were about the only thing I actually understood in Calc II (I think being a programmer may have helped...), and I got lucky, I would say that 70% of the final was dedicated to series. Wonderful for me. ;)

Yay! I got my grade for the class, and I got a 3.0 which I believe is the equivalent of a B. I have no idea how I managed that. ;)

I'm waiting on three more classes to see if I'm going to graduate with my 4.0. If anyone tries to give me a B, there's gonna be hell to pay. :)

<< Congrats, man. Now get a job pumping gas and you'll find out just how important those classes are. ;) >>

I hope I never have to take a job like that. It would be a significant pay cut from what I'm earning now. ;) I know this stuff is pretty useless though, I am actually using high level math for what I'm doing, but most of it is physics stuff, and I can look it up when I need to.

Looks like I'm a straight B student this year, I got Bs in all my classes, no matter how hard or easy I found the class, I still got a B. Oh well, I'll live with that. :) The grades I get this year won't affect my GPA anyway, since I'm not taking them at "my" school.
