I'm not going to work today

No Lifer
because I'm sick. Damn it. People who are sick should stay at home and not infect everyone at the office. A large number of people in Engineering had this and now I've got it. 🙁

I could not agree more...
We have a very small office, yet people still come in when they are hackin and sneezing everywhere.
Gah, i cannot stand it.

BTW, rest and feel better. 🙁

When I was working hourly, I went to work unless I was on my deathbed. No work = no pay and I didn't get sick days.

I'm not going to work today, not until Saturday. Worked this weekend and will will next weekend so a week off for me. Five days of nonstop, full tilt, balls to the ball neffing. 🙂

I understand that, and i can sympathize, but still... every time my boss HAS to come in when she is sick, she ends up infecting myself and my co-worker too. (even with hand washing and lysol)

We had a clown that came to work sick and wouldn't go home. Said he wasn't really that sick, & kept coming in.

He wiped out the entire work group with a very bad and highly contagious flu that was the 3 weeks in bed variety.

Always have Airborne or Emergen-C ready at work! You'll never know when you're going to need it.

Get well soon and I find that loads of liquids and sleep helps 🙂

I just bought some of that airborne stuff... do you find that it works for you better than zycam or other products?

I haven't actually tried zycam but I have tried Airborne and Emergen-C. If you take either product early enough, imho, you will be able to avoid getting sick (based on my own experience anyway). My sister took that stuff *after* she got a cold and she continued to get one anyway albeit a less longer bout of illness. It's not a miracle seltzer but it packs enough vitamins to help you fight off cold.

A lot of people are contagious before they even realize they are sick or sick enough that they need to take time off work.

It was the opposite at my last job. I called in sick and my manager said he really REALLY needed me in and wouldn't budge, so I came in. The guy who worked in the noc with me at the time subsequently had to take 2 weeks off with neumonia and bronchitis.

I have the option to work from home if I get sick. I don't abuse it but if I'm sick I'll just login from home unless it is something that knocks me down for the count.

Just for the record, I haven't called in sick for 2 years nor have I taken a vacation day.

I hope all your vacation days have rolled over!
