But I usually use MS Word 2016. Till today I haven't had any problems with it. Some days ago in our office some of my coworkers lost or something like many pages from its .docx file. We tried to get her data back, but even our techguys didn't assist.
 
Just stating that something is lost is Sad but you have to provide Technical info.

Where and on What the Files where stored?

Did you try to look at the Recycle Bin. Scan the storage for change folders, or use a Recovery Program.

Also check any automatic backup folders. Write is pretty good about that.
