I'm no pro but this is an outrageously low price on a brand new 3com switch

There was a deal earlier with similar switches(diffrent brand) for about $30. Same specks, except this 3com lacks a 100b cascasde port. Not so hot im afraid.

For 3Com brand name stuff, that is a good deal. Many IT Pros only use brand-name equipment.

3Com is a premium brand - $89 will barely get you a 3Com 10/100 NIC.
