Ok I never really thought about Ram any more than the common more is better.
But when i made my A64 system i went whith a 512 mb stick of crucail ballistix dispite friends saying they have a gb and my 512mb will be to slow in gaming performance. i see no difference on two near identical systems.

So i know there are many types of value ram but in general how does 1gb value ram compare to 512 mb of high performance (thats what ive been told it is, if not, sorry) ram?

If the applications you run fit into 512mb (doubtful for a lot of newer games, photo/video editing, etc), then the ballstix should be a little faster. If you start hitting the swap file with 512mb, then 1024mb of any ram will outperform the 512 of fast ram.

Ok thats kind of what i thought. but im doing gaming and some vidio editing and not problems at all. guess the 512 is a good choice. and if i need more so be it, ill buy another stick 🙂

A gb of value ram vs 512mb of performance ram is like a muscle car vs a Civic with a Folgers can exhaust pipe, covered in Type-R stickers... does your PC case have lights in it, by chance?
