I'm not saying that. $1000 a month in my part of michigan is enough to pay a 20 year mortage on a 1500 sq ft. house with a decent sized lot, is all I'm saying. that just seemed really high to me.

:| WTF. Just because I don't over pay for my apartment, means that it sucks? I'm sorry that you live in California where land values are inflated. Get the stick out of your ass. Sheesh.

I never said a damned thing about your apartment.

Gah. Whatever. you didn't say it outright, but your condencing tone implied that since you pay more, your's is better (the whole ferrari thing? that ring a bell?).

I'm really not in the mood to get into a pissing match.

No, I said just because a Ferrari is expensive doesn't mean it sucks. You said that California sucks for no other reason than because it's expensive. I was saying that there are plenty of GOOD expensive things out there (like Ferraris).

There are plenty of less expensive things out there that are also very GOOD things. If we stick with the car analogy, a Civic is a good car, and it's cheap. For most people, it's even a better car than the Ferrari. The quality of the civic being good or bad has no bearing on the quality of the Ferrari, though. The Civic and the Ferrari could both be good cars, or they could both be bad cars, or any comnbination of the two, but simply stating that the Ferrari is good does not mean I've chosen the opposite viewpoint about the Civic. They could both be good, or not. Your apartment might be great, or it might be crappy. I have no idea, I've never seen it.

And I was only speaking in a condesceding tone because you decided to say that the place I've lived my whole life sucks.

For an extra $200 a month, I'm getting:
no roommates (except my fiancee, but she doesn't count)
an extra room
A quieter building (no noisy college students)
A park across the street
A 10 minute shorter commute
A cheaper A/C bill (new place stays cooler much better than the current one)

It's a 2-bedroom, 900sq/ft apartment for $1030 a month, which I think is a decent price. I look forward to living there ,but not moving all my stuff.

$1030 :Q thats alot. My 800 sq ft apartment is like $501/month with gas heat and water...California sucks.

Yeah, expensive things tend to suck, like Ferraris. They cost like 100x more than my car did, they must be peices of crap.

hahahahahahah nice

read my post right before yours. My choice of words was poor, I admit.

Ok, I guess we're all straightened out, then. 🙂

I know California is expensive, but personally I think it's worth it. I know that not everyone agrees, but I find that the price premium is worth the extra enjoyment I get out of living here.

Ive been to Michigan (although not Flint) and a bunch of other states as well, and most of them have left me wanting to go home to California, just because I like it more. I'm not trying to bash Michigan or anywhere else, but I just find that California is the place I like the most, it's a personal preference.

In the ghettos of Flint, perhaps, but my house is smaller than 1500 sq. ft. and more than $1000 a month for more than 20 years.

Silly super big city people. I'm in a 2500sq-ft, 3 story house with 4 of my friends (2 of which are never here) and we pay 208.00$ rent then whatever for utilities and I'm 7 minutes from work.
