Could someone translate to me what 10 to the power of -22 would be in terms of odds? For example, 1/100,000,000,000. What does the -22 represent?

I think it would be a negative number and it would be a 1 with 21 zeros in front of it, after the decimal place.

Not sure how the minus works in this situation, but he didn't say 1 to the power of 22. he said 10 to the power of 22.

Edit: Hee hee, I haven't been in school in a while 😉 Ignore what i said!

It's 1 divided by 23 zeros. er, i mean 1 divided by 1 with 21 trailing zeros.

times 10^-22 means divide by 10^22. Big kids don't use the division sign after 7th or 8th grade, and only use the times sign in scientific notation.

Divide by 10^22 is the same thing as move the decimal place 22 to the left. Thus, you'll need 21 zeros in front of the 1 to accomplish it.

It means you are never going to win....NEVAR! EVAR EVAR! NYS lottery is one of the worst and it's 1 in 25 milllion chance on a single pick 6 number panel. Although you buy a min. of 2 so it's 1 in 12.5 million chance on $1 bet.

1 in 10^22 sucks major ass wth lottery is that? The above example I showed of NYS' lottery would be 1.25 x10^7 as an example. (12.5 million)

Good lord, are you a public school math teacher?

I assume you mean the odds of winning are 1 in 10^22, not 1 in 10^-22. 1 in 10^-22 is a sure enough bet.

1 in 10^22 is 1 in 10 million million million million.
