I got bored while backing up my computer via the network. Damn laptop with no XP support means no plugging in external drives.

this one time at the restaurant I worked at my coworkers and I were bored in the kitchen and started throwing things into the deep fryer. We ended up throwing in a piece of pita bread, it came out tasting EXACTLY like a scone. We then proceeded to make a honey butter mix to go with it, it was delicious.

On a side note, you can wrap anything in saran wrap and throw it in the deep fryer, the saran wrap will not melt. The wonderful things you learn while working at a restaurant. :)

Cookie dough + saran wrap + deep fryer = AMAZING.

What temp was your fryer at? I am intrigued and wish to try this idea.

I'm not sure... I can't remember but probably somewhere around 350-375 is my guess. I wasn't really there when it was turned on and I was hardly the one to ever turn it off at night.

The trick is wrapping the meat, or whatever else you're gonna cook up nice and tight in the saran wrap.

I've heard about this trick, but I've never tried. So what does a saran wrapped deep fried piece of chicken taste like? I'm guessing it's healthier.

yeah the oil never touches it.. I don't know the science behind it, the head chef just told us to do it.. I sat there and looked at him and told him no way in hell am I going to do that because i thought it was gonna melt in there and then we would have to clean the damn thing out (which is a bitch).

I would say that it just tastes like a piece of chicken cooked in the oven, although there might be a slight difference in tenderness/taste.
