It's my dad's b-day and I managed to get some Elk Roast from a friend of a friend. I'm gonna make it for dinner tonight, and I've got everything sorted out. Everything EXCEPT what to season it with. Thoughts?

Make it Greek style. Lemon and herbs(not sure if they make "Greek Seasoning", if not Italian Seasoning is close...gotta have the Lemon though)

edit: On second thought, do that at your own risk. It works excellent for Lamb, but may not work as well for Elk(though IIRC Elk has a Lamby flavour).

Mmmm...Elk...my favorite...

HEY! Look at that huge spider over there----------------------------------------------------------------------->

BoomerD steals the elk roast while yukichigai is looking for the spider...:D

BTW, I prefer NOT to put salt on any meat, (especially wild game) until it's cooked...the salt can/will draw the moisture out of the meat, making it too dry.
Different strokes for different folks though.

The lamb sounds good(especially with the Greek Seasoning). If elk tastes similar to lamb, I might have to try it sometime.

Not sure if it does. It would be a stronger flavour though.

The lemon is very important though. ;)
