I'm losing $1000 every five minutes... On a $100 a month DSL line...

Do customers honestly expect us to buy this BS? If your $12,000 an hour income depends on your internet connection, why the hell don't you spend 5 minutes worth of your income & get a T1?

I don't mind you telling me you need your internet connection, but please don't lie to me.

And if you're not a liar you're an idiot.

Anyone that dependent on their connectivity would have established some level of redundancy.

I mean, make it believable. "I'm losing $0.01 every 5 minutes!" I could believe that maybe, due to paying for the loss of service.

I just checked one of our newer techs notes, the customer told him that this would cost "at least $250,000 worth of business."

This is a 768/768k DSL line, it is NOT designed to be relied on for that kind of money.

I'm sure they're lying to us, but even if they aren't they're not terribly bright.

It a good tactic if you use it right. My former boss had a CTX laptop that sucked. He was on the phone with tech support and they were no help AT ALL. He was asking for some supervisor or something to try and get the situation resolved and the guy was giving him problems. Basically what he told him was that he makes $150 an hour. Their crappy laptop doesn't work for anything and he's losing business just having to be on the phone with them, but also on top of the laptop being busted. He told the guy he'd send them an invoice for the lost business and then very quickly they helped him resolve his problem.

LOLOLOL

Oh man I get those all the time - at least once a week!!! Someone on a dinky little SDSL line tells me they're literally losing thousands of dollars a day. Like I'm supposed to jump out of my seat and run to the vendor for them and yell "Fix this now!! They're losing so much money - it's gotta be more important than the rest of our customers!". These people kill me 😀

well at least WE aren't loosing that kind of money 🙂

I just want our's to stop disconnecting every 30 sec.

And we are paying for 3 lines and there are ALL messed up. 🙁

What speed are the lines? If they're anything above our 256/256 service, it's ProDSL. Give us a call. PM me if you need the number.

Same as I have at home 640,000 but we pay a Buiss rate. (at work duh)
I've called for help before and they say "reinstall the software"
I think for one, I need to have a tech come out and sort out our lines.

They're on crack.

PM me the DSL phone numbers & I'll tell you whether or not they're pro DSL lines.

I used to get those calls all the time when I was doing dial-up tech support. Only one guy was telling the truth. I suggested if he was losing that much then he should get a dedicated line like a T1. He said "Ok, where do I get one?"

Half the time when they tell how much they are losing I just want to say "Mine works" and then hang up on them.

You did your math wrong, $1000 every five minutes is $96,000 a day, even if they only work 8 hour days. I personally think they should push themselves to work 12 hour days & make $144,000.
