I'm looking for XP drivers for a S3 Virge DX, can someone point me to a d/l?

wouldn't mind running it driving a third screen, or a 2nd screen on my gf's rig.

It is a repost, since you all told me to look at driverguide, but now i'm confused 😱

I don't know that you will find XP drivers (or even Win2K drivers) for Virge cards, beyond what is built into the OS. You could try tracking down old Diamond Multimedia drivers, they were the biggest "brand" supporting S3. If they don't have what you want, frankly I'd have to say it doesn't exist unless its homebrew.

I can get teh card to work under XP, but i can't get it to work with my 6600GT working as well 🙁

Well, yeah, the ViRGE is the world's best 3D decelerator. 😀

Just get a $15 PCI card from FS/T or something. 🙂

says XP has builtin drivers for the VirgeDX series.

The reason it won't run multihead is ... it can't. All VGA cards in a multi-VGA setup must bring the capability to do so - and this one doesn't.

Dug, if you can find a Virge GX-2, it apparently supported dual screen. However I doubt you'll find XP drivers and I also doubt the builtin drivers will expose the dual screen capability. That's about as much as I can find out.

it'll come in handy should your video card ever require a BIOS flash, and it's a display inbetween cards, but yes, other than that, computer junk.
