no work history and no degree? I suggest fast food, they are always hiring. If you want video work you should build a portfolio and move to LA.

I have two Bachelor of Arts degrees and about 2.5 years of work experience from high school. I just don't have any qualifications for writing or video production.

Any kind of writing is fine at this point. As far as college experience goes; I have taken four courses of writing (screenwriting and fiction). I have also gone through the entire video production track at my school (beginner, intermediate, and advanced), and I have worked on a few student films.

Move to Austin, TX. Get a job at a bookstore, Starbuck's, bar/club, work with a Independant Film crew down in Austin. Build a reputation and connections. Work on successful films, and build a resume. Quit dead-end job, and work in industry.

A lot of hard work, especially with taking two jobs, only one paying, but it can reap rewards.

You can do this is Cali as well, but it is much harder to do.
 
What kind of writing would you be looking to do in the long run? We talking movies and stuff or what? What about some kind of journalism?
