Also...System of a Down, Soufly, Sepultura, Pantera to name a few other good heavy bands.

OK, just because I'm a little bit older than you guys doesn't mean I don't listen to the radio. I gotta tell ya tho-, the ONLY one of those bands you've mentioned that I've even heard of is the Deftones, and I can't think for the life of me what they sound like!

I guess I'm from the old school, when Judas Priest, Triumph, Scorpions, Rick Derringer, Blue Oyster Cult (and NOT &quot;Don't Fear The Reaper&quot; either...), etc., etc., etc., kicked serious *ss!!!

Nowadays, the newest bands that kick *ss and sound good too, are Metallica and Queensrych. Never did like Punk Rock. -kd5-

This isn't a new band, but it's an often overlooked band... Try LeFay. Kinda goth meets metal. They've got a website you can download tracks at. I liked 'em better when they were Morgana LeFay though. Lefay Website

I've gotta second you there Vi_edit on Union Underground.

I just saw them play a show here last night. Great show, totally unexpected in my part of the country. Another good recommendation is UPO they opened for them with Flybanger. All around good show. Played in an old movie theater it was different. Alot better that the usual cover-tunes or country that is the usual fare here.

Some black metal can be good, and some is just annoying. I would highly suggest Pepsi listen to these bands before he invests any money in them.

Check out Dillinger's 4th Grade Graduate. Some other good bands are Refused, Thrice, Boy Sets Fire and Backside.
