I'm looking for an older Star Trek game. It was 2D...

Well, it had the Klingons and the Tholian web IIRC. It had a text readout at the bottom. There were also some guages regarding shields, power etc. The faster you went, the more power was drained, but the less time passed. You had a certain time before the game ended. You could also get a cloaking device as well. If your phasers weren't too strong, the enemy would surrender. I played this years ago (maybe 8 or 9).

If anybody remembers the name or where I could find a game like this, let me know. I checked BH Legends and Underdogs, but no luck since I don't remember the name.

TIA ppl!

Find a *nix shell and type in 'trek'. I don't know if they still work, but I used to use nether.net and hobbiton.org. if not, you can always search for one over google.com

EGA Trek may be it but the graphics don't look like what I remember. I'll give it a try though.

I remember that the phasers were a circle that started small (from the Enterprise) and got bigger. You had to eliminate all the Klingon Birds of Prey and some higher class ships as well.

Any other trek games it could be?

From that description, it's probably not EGA Trek. In all of its 4-bit color glory, the phasers in EGA Trek was drawn as a straight line from your ship to the other ship. And the torpedo was a red asterick that was plotted on the grid. Depending on how the mission was generated, you could get capital ships but most were birds of prety.

I know there were a couple of clones but I never got into those so that's all I can contribute. ;)
