Im looking for an app that will show me the signal strength of available networks
I getting ready to travel soon so it would be nice as the last hotel i stayed at had 12 AP with different SSID's for each :|
My vote goes for iStumbler. It shows you all the access points it's picking up and the strength of each. Supposedly you should be able to select different APs from within the program but that's never worked for me.
Nonetheless, it does give you a good indication of signal strength and that's about all I need.
Try this quickie: hold the Option key and click the AirPort logo on your menu bar.
In OS X 10.5, it shows some cool extra info: channel, RSSI, transmit rate.

In OS X 10.4, it sorts available networks by signal strength.
