I'm looking for a VPN (free preferably)

I'm trying to buy the Windows 8 upgrade, but when I run the Upgrade Assistant it tells me that Windows is not available in my region. I'm a Canadian, but I'm out of the country (currently in the Caribbean) for another month.

Anyone know of any that are decent? I suppose I could even pay for one, but since I only need access for less than a day, free would be best. I just figured that asking here I might find something a little more reliable than just typing in "free VPN" into google and clicking the first result.

Just got off the phone with MS. There is no work around, I need to use the upgrade assistant.

I have a VPN at home that I have setup for that kind of use but I'm not one to open it up to the public. However http://proxpn.com/ seems to offer pretty good service for free.
