I'm looking for a Sci-Fi film.

That follows the following plot to some degree.

Communication is lost with a planet or ship
A team is dispatched to re-establish communication.
Problems ensue

Examples I know of:

Alien
Aliens
Event Horizon
Sunshine
Doom - (gah what shit)

I generally enjoy these films (except Doom) Any suggestion for other films with a similar set up I might like?

I liked the Stargate film (was that called Stargate SG1, I think it was) If Stargate Continuum is a sequel, then I'll definitely be watching that.

How I didn't put this in my list, I have no idea, it is my single favourite film. I thought for months to come to this conclusion, but it is my favourite. I love every second of it. Good answer, thread over, I'm going to watch The Thing again.

Have you seen Sphere? Not a great film, but if you love the abyss then it's worth a watch, it's quite good.
