I'm looking for a compact point and shoot camera

i took forever to find a camera just like you want and i chose the sd630. i love it. i definately reccomend it, and alot of others here did as well.

The PowerShot IS isn't exactly compact. Although for about the same price, you do get much better quality.

edit: Oops, I thought you were talking about the Sx IS seres.

Well I got the Sony T9 and while it does take nice pictures and is quick, after only 2 months of owning it the LCD cracked internally without being dropped and Sony won't warranty it.

So I can't say I'd recommend that.

SD700 IS, if it's in your budget.

IIRC, Fujifilm makes great P&Ss, but I'm not sure which one to recommend.

yeah but the screen on the 700is is smaller and its 499 instead of 399. i got the 630 for 379 i think. wasnt really worth it to go 120+ for the IS.

I just picked up a Sony W70. I was going to get the W100, but I couldn't find a waterproof housing for that one, which I wanted for a trip to Mexico next week. The W70 is a pretty nice camera for the price.
