Say Mods? Is there a way for you to just completely remove a person's post if they are on your ignore list? The problem is that I can still see that they posted and this takes up precious vertical space. It would be much better if they were completely removed so as not to disrupt my reading of posts that I personally approve of.

There's a discontinued addon that can ignore users and they'll be like they haven't even posted. But it only works for FF3.x. It's called Ffvb.

What you do is you add the username or keyword to your list, simply the threads don't even show up like they don't exist.

It doesn't work for ff4 and ff5 sadly, and the author doesn't want to work on it anymore. The source code is out there though.
