I'm at the point in my tour where I get to go home for a bit. It'll take days to get back to the U.S. My wife is meeting me at the airport and we'll spend a couple of days alone together before I surprise my 2 year old daughter. I intend to spend as much time with my family as I can but what are some neat, indoor places to bring them during October? I live in central Massachusetts and have been thinking of the following places:

http://www.magicwings.com/
http://www.childrensmuseumholyoke.org/
http://www.cpbostonns.com/
http://www.bostonkids.org/

I can Google but does anyone have any good destinations for when it rains or gets too cold?

Though my wife might enjoy it. I wonder if she's spent all of my money on scratch tickets.

While you are in Boston, how about the Aquarium? Kids love it. www.neaq.org

Have a terrific time with your family & stay safe.

Thank you for your service. :)

you should set some clear rules if you haven't done so. and allocations. separate accounts. one account for bills, one account for wife for personal spending (monthly allocate), etc. establish the importance of the future, saving and investments, your child(ren) college funds. whatever the military 401k is, max your contribution, educate yourself and make some adjustments on the diversifications if you have to

The fuck does this have to do with him coming home to spend quality time with his family

Aquarium is a good choice, I always liked going to those as a kid!

If you're going to be in Boston with your family:
Aquarium
Museum of Science
Childrens Museum
USS Constitution and Museum?

Also, check out the USO. There is one at Coast Guard Base Boston. I think the woman who was always there when I went in with my dad retired, but they were always wicked helpful and had a bunch of discounted things.

Thanks for your service

I'm back home!

When I was on R&R we went to the New England Aquarium and the Holyoke Children's Museum. I think our next destinations are CoCo Key in Fitchburg and the Mystic Aquarium when the Spring comes.

Thanks for the replies and sorry for necroing this thread but I'm back home. I'm surprised if you haven't heard of me because and I'm kind of a big deal in Kabul.

Canada: for the rest of your, statistically much longer, life.

Yeah, but then I wouldn't be able to say that I'm the only guy on the street that's set foot in 5 different combat zones.

Panama
Gulf War I
Bosnia
Kosovo
Afghanistan

At this point I'm more worried about cancer from these places than getting blown up.

Welcome back!

I get done with my A-School soonish as a reservist and always have the hellish possibilty of going over there. I'm terrified of it actually.

I'm glad you and hopefully everyone you knew made it back safely.

Someone died today. He deployed more than anyone could have asked. He left a family behind.

Edit: Needless necro. It just sucks.
